AI in Dentistry 1.0 : is it a HYPE or HELP?

In today’s world of AI dentistry with the advent of new technologies to the field, the clinician finds himself daily in front of a vast array of new concepts, hardware and software, which necessitates their comprehension and use to ride the wave of AI technologies in dentistry which is mounting into a tsunami.

So in this lecture we will discuss the concepts of Artificial Intelligence related to dentistry's past present and future. Also how to understand, integrate and implement it practically, starting with the phase of scanning: CBCT, Intraoral or in lab optical scanners, face photos, digital models, impression scans and their integration. Then going through the phase of diagnostics and planning working on the acquired data using specialized software, showing the added benefit and amazing potentials and ending how to go back to the "real" life with solid benefit to the patients.

And ending with the discussion if this bombardment of data, applications, media and products is just a HYPE that will phase into another "AI Winter", or a HELP that will increase accuracy, efficiency, cost and access to dental healthcare and how to critically ride this wave of tomorrow becoming a reality today.
