INTEGRATION OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN DENTISTRY

Artificial intelligence is the biggest disruptive technology in the field of medical and dental diagnosis . Dental field has accepted  the important role, artificial intelligence is going to play in the field of  dental radiology, CAD CAM technology, virtual implant planning , endodontics and orthodontics . My  presentation aims to showcase the pros and cons of artificial intelligence integration with dental specialities and how it could be a game changer for early dental diagnosis  and  generate a  perfect treatment plan which could give an effective prognosis for dental patients . 

  • Professor Dr. Prashant P. Jaju, BDS, MDS (Oral Medicine Radiology), serves as the OSD and Head of the Department at Rishiraj College of Dental Sciences and Research Centre in Bhopal, India.

    Dr. Jaju graduated from MGV Dental College and Hospital in Nashik, Maharashtra, and completed his postgraduate studies in Oral Medicine Radiology at the prestigious Dr. DY Patil Dental College and Hospital in Pune, India, where he achieved gold medalist recognition from Pune University.

    Currently, he holds the positions of administrative head, Professor, Head, and Postgraduate guide in the Department of Oral Medicine Radiology at Rishiraj College of Dental Sciences and Research Centre.

    Additionally, he is the proprietor of 5 CBCT centers in India and serves as the director of ORAL IMAGING SOLUTIONS, a Teleradiology company linked with 10 CBCT centers throughout India. Since 2011, Dr. Jaju has been a Key Opinion Leader in Imaging for DENTSPLY SIRONA in India.

    He is also leading the 3D division for Velmeni Inc. in the USA and is the Director of Velmeni India operations, focusing on AI-driven software development for dental imaging. Dr. Jaju has conducted training sessions for oral maxillofacial radiologists and dentists on CBCT technology in various countries, including India, Nepal, South Africa, Dubai, Iran, and Turkey. He is recognized as a certified CBCT trainer and a digital dentistry expert.

    Furthermore, he serves as a Scientific Collaborator for Xelisreporting Software in South Korea and 3diagnosys in Italy. As an accomplished author, Dr. Jaju has written two textbooks on CBCT that have received international acclaim, and he has contributed to a recently published book on Artificial Intelligence by Springer.

    He holds the esteemed position of Editor-in-Chief of CBCT magazine, the official publication of the Computer Aided Implantology Academy in Italy, and serves as the section editor for oral radiology in the Journal of European Oral Research.

    Since 2022, Dr. Jaju has been appointed as the Scientific Coordinator for the Computer Aided Implantology Academy. In recognition of his outstanding contributions, he was honored with the Profile of the Month and Year awards by the Indian Dental Association in 2011 and 2016.
